Customized systems for the rubber and silicone processing industry regularly leave the factory of rubicon Gummitechnik und Maschinenbau GmbH. We are pleased to announce that our most recent salt bath vulcanization line will be open to our customer in January 2024. Interested parties will have the opportunity to view this innovative system.

Technical details of the system

The salt bath vulcanization system type LCM 15 RS/EL, available for visit, is electrically heated and consists of a 15 metre long combined salt sprinkling and rolling section as well as a 5 metre long washing section (W-LCM) and a 5 metre long cooling section (KW-LCM).  Our innovative salt recycling system, which is also electrically heated, is characterised not only by an effective salt recovery process but also by a special pre-cleaning zone in the salt bath to prevent too high a level of salt entering the washing section.

The application of this salt bath system is focussed on the production of reinforced and unreinforced single and multiple extruded rubber profiles.

Special features of the salt bath vulcanization system

The continuous salt bath vulcanization system from rubicon enables highly energy-efficient operation with low water and salt consumption. The environmentally friendly salt recycling system is one of the reasons for this.

The system is suitable for nitrite, nitrate and lithium-based salt types and ensures reproducible heat transfer with a high temperature accuracy in the range 140° to 250°C thanks to the molten salt.

Our new generation of electrically or gas-heated salt bath vulcanization systems are characterised by high productivity and low specific energy consumption. The excellent heat transfer, the modular and compact system design, low salt discharge and a highly modern control system characterise the rubicon systems. Thanks to production speeds of up to 80 m/min and the outstanding surface quality of the profiles and hoses, our systems set standards in the industry.

The salt bath process fits perfectly into production lines for the manufacture of various rubber extrudates, such as automotive seals, wiper blades, building industry profiles, rubber bands, rubber cables and much more.
