From 19-26 October 2022, rubicon Gummitechnik und Maschinenbau GmbH will be presenting interesting new products from its wide range of machinery and equipment for rubber and silicone processing at booth 16F59.

For years, energy-saving measures have been a central topic in the new and further development of machines, and today they are more important than ever. At the K, the machine manufacturer from Halle (Saale), Germany, is now showing for the first time its small scale silicone extrusion line, which has been completely redesigned in terms of energy efficiency.

The line, which is already established for the production of silicone products for both medical applications in cleanrooms and industrial production, consists of an EEK 32.12 silicone extruder and a V-IRT 12/1,0 infrared vulcanization tunnel.

By optimizing the design of the infrared vulcanization tunnel, the number of emitters was reduced from eight to three. Instead of the previous 36 kW, silicone profiles and hoses are now reliably vulcanized with only 12 kW, and energy consumption has been significantly reduced.

The silicone extruder was supplemented with a KF1-7000 piston feeder for easy feeding. This enables feeding with whole silicone blocks, which are pressed by a piston through a die to a thin cord, which is continuously fed to the extruder. The die is easily exchangeable, allowing the diameter of the cord to be adjusted. A servo drive in combination with a loop sensor controls the piston very precisely.

New to the product range and also exhibited at the booth is the roto cross head RQ 100 V. The roto cross head is used for the mark-free covering of rolls up to a diameter of 80 mm. A motorized axially adjustable centering pipe and a special feature for cleaning make the cross head easy to handle. Due to its compact design, it can be easily combined with rubicon high-performance extruders for the covering of rolls in the highest quality and with the utmost precision.

In addition to the exhibits on show, rubicon will inform the visitors about a whole range of other new developments.
